Who is No Tie?

José has always been a free spirit and an avid outdoors man.  He is a successful executive in the corporate world that embraces his freedom and is on a quest to leaving a mark in this world.  

He has run multi-billion global companies during his 25-year career at AT&T.   José was president, chief executive officer of AT&T Southwestern Bell and has enjoyed his service on the boards of directors of Denny's, Adient and Dr. Pepper Snapple Group.  He also assists charitable organizations in the fields of higher education, sports, hiking, the arts, international relations and autism.  José is a proud graduate of the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University, as well as the University of Missouri.

While hiking the Appalachian Trail, he adopted his trail name of No Tie.  In the office and other social events, José often sports one of his many elegant or playful bow ties he has collected over the years.  In the mountains, naturally he goes from bow tie to no tie at all.  And so, as simple as that, the name of No Tie just stuck with the hiker community.  For fun, he often pins a bow tie in his back pack.

No Tie  hikes around the world and helps individuals and organizations to maximize their potential by unleashing their legacy.  He shares insights with fellow leaders, and speaks at large events and small gatherings.  At his happiest, he is often on a trail.
